One thing you will notice when you start to browse through the synopsis of an 18 year career as an RN is a LOT of experience! I was able to work at many different types of agencies (large, small, new, ancient, for profit, non-profit) in many different roles (case manager, team manager, project manager, Director of Clinical Services, Administrator) all as a result of transfers in my husband's career. The most valuable lesson I learned from this variety of experience is there are lots of ways to do things RIGHT!
Since 1993 I have worked exclusively in home health advancing from the bedside to the boardroom as an agency administrator over the course of 7 years. When I earned my BSN in 2000 I decided to try hospice and I started a new career at the bedside as a a hospice case manager and progressively advanced to Regional Adminstration of 8 agencies. From 2005 to 2008 I did BOTH home health and hospice adminstration and enjoyed growth and success in that role. I started consulting in 2008 and I also started working for CHAP in 2008 and have seen huge successes and painful belly flops. From all this, I have developed a toolkit of best practices that I bring to bear on my personal mission of "keeping people out of the hospital"
